Bairei Kachō Gafu

In a woodblock-printed picture book entitled Bairei Kachō Gafu (Picture Album of Flowers and Birds by Bairei) both flowers and birds were depicted in full color instead of just partial color as in most of Bairei’s other books. This book was originally published in 1883 and reprinted in 1899. The twenty-five pictures included in the first volume of the 1899 edition are shown in this gallery.
